As a huge candle fan, I had waaaay too many empty candle jars lying around and no clue what to do with them. Because I just couldn't bring myself to throw them out, I've found a bunch of great ways to reuse them over the years. So if this sounds like you, keep reading for some super handy tips!
First things first - Clean your candle jar
Before reusing a jar, you need to clean out all the leftover wax once the candle has completely burned down. To do this, you can start by filling it with hot soapy water and scraping out the remaining wax with a brush or a teaspoon. Another way is to put the jar in the freezer for a few hours: the wax will pop out more easily. Finally, you can also pour boiling water into the jar - the wax will melt and float to the top (let the water cool, then remove the wax).
1. Bathroom Storage
There are tons of ways to use these containers in your bathroom. Once they're clean, our candle jars make a really cute set for storing bathroom bits. Fill them with cotton pads, cotton swabs or even pop your toothbrush in one! The lids also come in handy if you need to store something liquid like mouthwash or shampoo.

2. Cocktail Glass
You can also reuse your candle jar as a fancy glass for your favourite drink! Mojito, Old Fashioned, Gin & Tonic or Rum & Coke, any cocktail will fit perfectly in these original 8oz glasses. Cheers to that!

5. Homemade Jam
Our jars are the perfect size for storing delicious fruit jams or anything else you'd like to whip up for the occasion: apple butter, caramel spread, sauce or even nut butter. BUT because nothing beats good toast with jam, here's the recipe for our favourite healthy fruit jam:
Ingredients
1 cup of the fruit of your choice (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc.)
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp chia seeds
Method
1. Rinse the berries under cold water.
2. Put the berries and sugar in a food processor and blend until smooth.
3. Transfer to an airtight container and add the chia seeds, mixing well.
4. Let it set in the fridge for 1 hour.

6. Plant Pots
Plant lovers, you'll be happy to know your empty candle jar can become a new home for some plants! Whether you want to use it for cuttings or just to sprout a new plant, a little one will grow easily if you add some potting soil and water it now and then!
7. Flower Vase
Finally, if you're not exactly a "green thumb", you can use your empty candle containers as a pretty vase for small flowers. Just fill the jar with a little water first so they don't dry out.
