1. Who we are

The okbye.ca website is operated by Les Produits Ok Bye inc. ("Ok Bye", "we", "us"), 5425, rue de Bordeaux, Montréal (Québec) H2H 2P9, info@okbye.ca. Our store is hosted by Shopify.

2. Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the Québec Consumer Protection Act. If any clause of these terms is contrary to that Act, it does not apply to you.

3. Use of the site

By using the site or buying from us, you accept these terms. You must be of the age of majority (or have the consent of a parent or guardian) to place an order.
You agree to:
- not use the site for illegal or fraudulent purposes;
- not interfere with its operation (viruses, bots, attempts to intrude or bypass security);
- not harass, insult or deceive other people through the site;
- provide accurate and up-to-date information when making purchases.

4. Products and prices

Prices are in Canadian dollars, before taxes. The price you pay is the price displayed at the time of your order. We may change our prices and products at any time, but never for an order that has already been placed.
We do our best to show our products accurately. Because our candles are hand-poured, small variations in colour, appearance or scent strength are normal, and colours may vary depending on your screen. Some products are available in limited quantities.

5. Errors

If there is an error in a description, price, promotion or availability, we correct it as soon as we notice it. We cannot charge you a higher price than the advertised price. If a pricing error is obvious, we will notify you and you may cancel your order at no cost.

6. Orders

We may refuse or limit an order, for example for unusual quantities, in case of suspected fraud, or if the order appears to be intended for resale. If this happens after you have paid, we will notify you and you will receive a full refund.

7. Promotions and discounts

Volume offer on 9 oz candles: 5% off Regular-size (9 oz) candles when you have 2 or more candles of that size in the same cart, and 10% off with 3 or more. The discount applies automatically in the cart, only to 9 oz candles, and cannot be combined with Flames reward codes or other product discounts. Shipping costs and taxes are excluded. We may change or end the offer at any time; the applicable discount is the one in effect at the time of your order.
Unless otherwise stated, one discount code per order. Codes have no cash value.

9. Safe use of candles

To use your candle safely:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
- Place it on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from fabrics and drafts.
- Trim the wick to about 5 mm (¼ in) before each burn.
- Do not burn it for more than 3 to 4 hours at a time.
- Stop using it when about 1 cm (½ in) of wax remains at the bottom.

Burning a candle all the way down or without following these instructions can cause the container to overheat or crack, the wax to splatter, or the flame to become unstable or too high. Even though our candles are carefully tested and fitted with insulating pads, a candle is still an open flame: it always requires careful use.
We are not responsible for damage caused by use contrary to these instructions. This limitation does not apply if the damage is caused by a defect in the product or by our fault, nor to the extent prohibited by law.

10. Reviews, photos and comments

If you send us a review, photo, idea or suggestion, you allow us to use and publish it (for example on the site or our social media), with your first name as you wrote it. Your content must be truthful and respect the rights of others (copyright, privacy). We may remove content that is illegal, abusive, misleading or off-topic.

11. Links to other sites

The site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices: read their terms before buying anything from them.

12. Intellectual property

Our texts, photos, logos, labels and designs belong to Ok Bye. You may not copy, reproduce or sell them without our written permission.

13. Liability

We do everything we can to make sure the site works well, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or error-free. Except in the case of fault on our part and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages related to the use of the site. These limitations do not apply in Québec to the extent prohibited by the Consumer Protection Act, in particular with respect to the legal warranty.

15. If a clause is invalid

If any clause of these terms is found to be invalid, the remaining clauses remain in effect.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

17. Changes

We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published on this page at the time you placed it.
