Shipping
We only ship within Canada, for now. Your order is prepared in 1 to 3 business days (longer during launches, Black Friday and the holidays). Standard shipping costs $9.99 and it's free on orders over $125 before taxes. All the details: shipping policy.
Returns and exchanges
Our products are final sale: no exchanges or refunds for a change of mind or the wrong size. If your product is defective or arrives broken, email us at info@okbye.ca with a photo: we'll take care of it. Your rights under the law (legal warranty) remain fully intact. All the details: refund policy.
Our candles are hand-poured: small variations in colour, look or scent strength from one candle to the next are normal.
How does the 9 oz candle deal work?
With 2 Regular (9 oz) candles in your cart, you save 5% on those candles. With 3 or more, it's 10%. The discount applies automatically in your cart, no code needed. It doesn't apply to 5 oz minis or other products, and it can't be combined with a Flames reward code.
What are flames?
Our loyalty program: 1 flame per dollar spent, 50 flames when you create your account, and gifts starting at 100 flames. Your flames never expire. All the details: rewards program.
I had Smile points. Where did they go?
They were automatically converted into flames (1 point = 1 flame). Log in to your account to see your balance on the rewards program page.
How do I find the right candle for me?
Take our scent quiz: in 2 minutes, we'll suggest your top 3 matches based on what you like.
How long does a candle last?
About 30 to 35 hours for the mini (5 oz) and 55 to 60 hours for the regular size (9 oz), if you follow our care tips below.
What are they made of?
Our candles are made with high-quality soy and coconut wax, premium fragrances and lead-free wicks. They're hand-poured in Québec by an exceptional woman (who is anything but modest).
Why does my candle look different after I light it?
That sometimes weird look of the wax after burning is totally normal with natural wax. It doesn't affect your candle's scent or performance.
How do I use my candle safely?
Before each burn
- Trim the wick to about 5 mm (¼ in). A wick that's too long makes a flame that's too big, causes smoke and can overheat the container.
- Place your candle on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from fabrics (tablecloths, curtains) and drafts.
While it's burning
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
- Never move a candle that's lit or whose wax is still hot.
- Don't burn it for more than 4 hours at a time.
Never do this
- Don't let it burn all the way down: stop when about 1 cm (½ in) of wax is left, so the glass doesn't overheat or break.
- Never add water, oils or any other substances to the melted wax.
- Don't use a candle whose container is cracked or damaged.
To make it last longer
- The first time, let the wax melt all the way to the edge of the jar to avoid tunnelling.
- Put the lid back on once the wax has cooled to keep the scent in.
- Gently wipe the rim of the jar with a dry cloth to avoid soot.
What do you do for the environment?
We use natural wax and cruelty-free ingredients, we make things as locally as possible to cut down on transport, and almost all of our shipping materials are recyclable, recycled or compostable. Our packing peanuts, for example, are compostable and even dissolve in water (if they don't, they're recycled peanuts)!
